BREAKING THE GLASS BARRIER

WORTHY IS A MINUTE OPPORTUNITY 1. If you are SINGLE and keep on saying “I DON’T TRUST MEN OR WOMEN!” Remember your mates are getting married every Saturday. Let me ask you, are they marrying spirits? Wise up! 2. If you are MARRIED and keep saying “I HATE THIS MARRIAGE!” OK! Is it not married people like you that are celebrating Gold, Silver and even Platinum jubilee? 3. If you keep on ranting, ”I’M LEAVING MY MAN, HE CHEATED ON ME!” Please, go to town and see all the fine, cute, sexy, hot, hungry and desperate chicks waiting to snatch your man’s money and property, they don’t even mind sharing. Make it work, my friend! 4. Stop saying “I HATE MY JOB!” Look! 20 million people are jobless and can’t even find any not to talk of keeping it! Do you want to join them? 5. You keep saying “I HATE WHERE I LIVE!” Oh please! *tears* Try visiting those locations that are flooding now, people leaving in tin/zinc shacks in winter or people living/ sleeping under the bridge at night and you will be grateful to God that you even have a place to stay! 6. Some say “I AM TIRED OF THIS LIFE!” Well, go to the hospital and see people fighting for their lives! Go to the mortuary and take a look then tell me what you feel after that! The point is, be positive and believe in God, that’s all that matters. Be Blessed. CHERISH EVERY MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE: To realize the value of a sister/ brother ask someone Who doesn’t have one. To realize the value of ten years: Ask a newly divorced couple. 1. To realize the value of four years: Ask a graduate. 2. To realize the value of one year: Ask a student who Has failed a final exam. To realize the value of nine months: Ask a mother who gave birth to a stillborn. 3. To realize the value of one month: Ask a mother Who has given birth to a premature baby. To realize the value of one week: Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper. 4. To realize the value of one minute: Ask a person Who has missed the train, bus or plane. 5. To realize the value of one second: Ask a person Who has survived an accident. Time.. If you are alive today, please just like and comment Thank you.

MODELLING IS A TALENT ; SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT, MY CALLING

Brian Omudi is not your typical kinda guy. He is smart, charming, and witty and above all passionate about protecting the environment. It is this passion to make the world a better place that led him to contest for Mr. Environment Kenya, Vihiga County. Popularly known as Damiro, Brian is a fourth year student at Maseno University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Education Arts with I.T. He is a lover of fashion from a young age and being an environmentalist, all his fashion inspirations come from nature. “The environment possesses more beauty and fashion than anything else. I’m a reformer who lives by the principal that life is a process full of changes and these changes are inevitable,” dam3 Damiro takes his environmental work with the seriousness of the people who came before him. He cites the late Hon. Prof WANGARI MATHAI as his source of inspiration. “In spite of all the challenges she faced in advocating for environmental conservation, she still defied the odds to reach her goals for the betterment of Mother Nature as a humanitarian,” he says. As an ambassador of the environment in County, Brian hopes to achieve the following: Increase the attention to environmental sustainability in the county by ensuring that environmental issues enter fully into discussions of its strategic directions and in regional assistance programs by forming some environmental rights and conservation groups. Encouraging the society and county at large about the transitioning towards a low-carbon economy, coupled with expanding clean and affordable energy access, preserving biodiversity while improving rural livelihoods through mass education about the importance of environmental conservation. Initiating environmental groups that help in protecting water resources, coupled with expanding access to clean water and sanitation. This is mainly through planting trees to cover the environment and also help in reduction of soil erosion. Ensure effective conservation and management to reverse the loss of natural resources and bio-diversity. Scale-up programs and initiatives to deliver proper environmental outcomes such as: Partnering with local investors to introduce electricity and cleaner cooking fuels to the large segments of Vihiga that are still deprived of such essential services. Develop participatory, proper natural resource and ecosystem management systems. Introduce innovative financial mechanisms to significantly raise financing for the environment. Introduce measures/mechanisms to reduce global greenhouse gas in Vihiga County. Enhance climate adaptation programs and reduce the negative impact of climate in Vihiga County. Promote climate-friendly and climate-change adaptation technologies. dam5 As a parting shot, Brian embraces education as the key to achieving a productive world with his “KNOWLEDGE IS POWER BUT SUCCESS IS A MENTAL CHOICE.’’ He also reminds us that, “THIS EARTH WE’VE NOT INHERITED FROM OUR PARENTS, BUT WE’VE BORROWED IT FROM OUR CHILDREN.” Let’s help him continue his work in advocating for #MOTHER_NATURE by visiting his page , liking, commenting and sharing his passion to friends. https://m.facebook.com/MR.eNVIRONMENTvIHIGAbRIANoMUDI/?msite_modal=photo_composer&_rdr
